  THE LEGIONNAIRES PROBLEM

Legionnaires’ disease is a severe infection that can be very serious and can cause death.

People get Legionnaires’ disease when they breathe in a mist or vapour (small droplets of water in the air) that has been contaminated with the bacteria.

The Legionella bacteria are found naturally in the environment, usually in spring waters (even thermals), in the rivers, in the lakes and in the sea. The bacteria grow best in warm water, like the kind found in hot tubs, hot water tanks, and large plumbing systems.

Legionella can be found in Hotels, Hospitals, Nursing home, Thermal, Sport centres, swimming pools, fountains, even in golf fields.

Legionella grow also in cooling towers or parts of the air-conditioning systems of large buildings.

Due to the increase of Legionnaires’ disease in tourists that got the infection after visiting our Country, the Italian State according to the Regions, has promulgate the  Guidelines for Control and Prevention of legionellosis in hotels and thermal (G.U. n. 28 Feb. 4th, 2005)

Kimicontrol has created a group of expert for giving consulting and services to Hotels, Thermal, Sporting Centre, Hospital, etc.

In case of contamination, our experts are able to find the right solution to solve and prevent the Legionella problem and clear pipes from scale and contamination of micro organism.
